Last night I had the pleasure of working with Brittany, she’s stunning in person with a wonderful laugh and smile. Below is a few pictures from last night, there are a couple of dozen that I really like a lot, I woke up early and cranked out these few photos below.

We had horrible service and I wouldn’t recommend this place to anybody. Here is an example of how our night went. After being seated we were asked if we would like some wine and I asked what blend he would recommend, he suggested a $75 bottle of wine which I told him was a more than I wanted to spend, how about something cheaper. He said that you get what you pay for and here are no cheap wines that are good. WOW! I spent $150 on a meal and we got super crappy service, at least I had awesome company for the night,

Today was a weird photo day, blizzard the night before, people not being able to make it… Well at the 11th hour we pulled together our resources and these girls braved the weather and we got these fantastic results!  I am very pleased, these girls did a wonderful job!  Below are models Cybele and Kristin. There are a lot of very good images, here are just a few from a few hours ago.

I was working the Cincinnati Bridal and Formal show yesterday, here are most of the gowns there. Great looking gowns and beautiful girls to show them. I got to meet some really friendly photographers there, you can never have too many photog friends to talk to and learn from. Having a D3 around my shoulder made me a bit of a target of photogs up and down the isle but i’m a talker so if you ever have questions just come up and say hello.

I am really starting to learn the ins and outs of this D3. There metering system has really changed from the D200. Right now I am finding that matrix metering is best for me, whereas center weighted was best on the D200. Learning about your gear and how it works is key to successfully exposed photographs. Take time to learn your camera system before you get into those events where you either get the job done or go home with your tail between your legs.

All of these photos were taken with the D3, ISO 800, 70-200 f2.8 @ 200mm f4 Aperture priority. Shutter speeds were usually around 1/800s. Most images cropped in about 25%.  Also, these images are straight out of the camera besides the cropping.  I shot in RAW+JPEG.  These are the Jpeg, in camera I have a -2 for the contrast.

Elizabeth and I went to the Wright Patterson Airforce Museum in Dayton Ohio for a little sightseeing and fun. We tried to do our best to have loads of fun and we did.

I had a wonderful time working with Amanda, please see our photos below. All photos were taken with the Nikon D3 and 70-200mm f2.8 VR lens except for the shot by the concrete wall, that was with the 24-7mm f2.8

Over the past few weeks I have shoot 2 weddings and a model, There are a lot of photos to post so I’ll do it one by one. What I have below is the first session in the studio with the D3. I am extremely happy with the detail and the dynamic range of the D3. See beautiful Amanda below. There are a lot more to post but I want to share one photo while I work on the rest.
