First Photos with the Nikon D800

I was delighted to have received the Nikon D800 on Friday, 4/20/2012. Murphy’s Camera gave me an unexpected call with the fantastic news and I got it the next day. I had pre-ordered from BHphoto days after the D800 press release and I was still able to get a camera from Murphy’s faster.

I am working on a first impressions post but that will come after my next wedding to give it a through run through.

Small Nikon D800 feature that i’m excited about

I just learned that the D800 does have a Silent / Quiet shutter mode. I have occasionally attracted attention from the shutter noise of the D3 when shooting. I will be very exited to test out this new feature. I’ll see what I can do about a decible meter if I can figure out a way, maybe the iPad might have something I can use.

Secure link to iTunes Store failed

Cut to the chase:

Start Menu > Type in cmd
Enter “netsh winsock reset” press enter
Restart your computer

Yesterday I received my first iPad, the new iPad. I had trouble connecting it to iTunes and could not even sign in to the iTunes store. I ran the diagnostics in iTunes and saw “Secure link to iTunes Store failed.” I went straight to the search engines and went digging. Quickly seeing that I was not alone. I tried disabling Windows Defender, Windows Firewall, and AVG antivirus. No Help. Also, flushing the DNS, also no help. Uninstalling all Apple programs was not helpful either. Not until a lot of digging was I able to find the steps above and that worked. Good Luck!
